Suggested Items to Bring:
Cottonwood Apartments provides all of the furniture for your apartment including 6 single beds, a desk and dresser in each room, couch and loveseat, end tables, a TV, and a DVD player, major appliances (fridge, oven, dishwasher, and microwave), a table and six chairs in the kitchen. Here are some things that you may want to bring:
- Bedding, including a mattress cover (required by the University)
- Dishes, pots and pans, and utensils
- Laundry supplies
- Shower curtain
- Towels and personal items
- School supplies
Check-in begins at 8 am on the first day of the contract. (For check-in dates, please refer to the dates on your contract). If you arrive after office hours, you may contact one of the Manager’s Assistants to let you into your apartment for the night. The M.A.’s numbers will be posted on the office door. Please check in with us the next day!
When is my rent due?
Rent is due in full when you check in. If you are paying your rent with scholarship/financial aid money, you must print off a copy of your award statement and bring it with you when you check in. We also have a payment plan option which includes a $50 fee. The first of 3 payments is due when you check in and the remaining payments will be set up at that time.

We have visitor parking spots in the parking lot. Visitor parking is limited to the BYU-I regulations for visitor’s hours which are between noon and curfew. Residents can park in those spots from curfew until noon. Occasionally we will have extra parking passes which allows us to offer visitor passes. Please check with the manager to see if and when they are available.
What can I use to hang decorations in my apartment?
We do allow you to use pins, tacks, or small nails to hang decorations in your apartment. We encourage you to decorate your apartment with uplifting decorations that allow the Spirit to reside in your apartment. We do not allow any double-sided tape (3M or Command tape, etc) in the apartments. It damages the walls and is very hard and time-consuming to fix.
How do I reserve the lounge?
The lounge can be reserved by going to the “current residents” tab on our website. Submit your request and the manager will approve/post your reservation to the calendar.
What if I get locked out of my apartment?
If you get locked out of your apartment, please do not remove the screen! Contact one of the Managers (info is on the office door) to unlock your apartment for you.

Make sure your family and friends put your apartment number on anything they send you. If you receive mail for someone not in your apartment, just put it back into the outgoing mail slot. When you move (even temporarily) you need to fill out a change of address form so your mail can be forwarded to you. Packages coming through UPS or FEDEX will be brought to your door as long as there is an apartment number on the package.
White Glove Procedures:
White glove is normally conducted one week before the contract ends. This is an opportunity to get your cleaning done before finals and to learn what we will be checking for after you leave. We will check each white glove job and let you know what you need to improve/clean before you check out. This counts as your “walk-through” with management as we do not check your apartment when you check out. You will not be charged for things not cleaned during White Glove, but are responsible for making sure everything is “white glove” standard by 6:00 p.m. on the last day of the contract.
When will I receive my deposit return?
Your deposit will be sent to you 30 days after the end of the contract. They will be sent in the self-addressed, stamped envelope you provided during check out, so make sure you have the right address on the envelope.
